From CES to Sussex: pioneering circular water living.

In January 2020, Marc ter Kuile first discovered Hydraloop when it was named the best product among 20,000+ electronics at CES in Las Vegas. Seeing it hailed by Time magazine as a “no brainer of an invention” and featured in the Netflix documentary Brave Blue World convinced Marc that greywater recycling would be a perfect fit for his family’s new ecohouse in Sussex.

The solution.

Marc and his wife Suzanne Hillen became among the first UK clients to install a Hydraloop H300 in their four-bedroom home near East Grinstead. The system collects greywater from showers and baths and safely reuses it for toilet flushing and laundry.

The result.

By integrating Hydraloop, their ecohouse saves up to 45% on daily water and wastewater usage. This early adoption demonstrates how smart water recycling can be seamlessly incorporated into modern, sustainable homes while maintaining comfort and convenience.

Shortly after installation, I received a call from Hydraloop informing me that one of my toilets was leaking. I was incredibly impressed by Hydraloop’s ability to detect a leak I would have otherwise never noticed! This saved me a lot of money and precious water. I think this is the future.
