Camping Weltevreden
6 x H600 Cascade
1.576.800 liters | 416,547 US gallons
A campsite with a clear vision for the future.
Located in the province of Zeeland on the border of fresh and salt water, this campsite has become a benchmark for sustainable hospitality. Open year-round, it combines guest comfort with ambitious environmental goals, including full electrification, CO₂ reduction, and innovative water management.
Operating in a dynamic coastal environment brought a critical challenge: water scarcity during peak summer months. While the campsite has a rainwater harvesting tank capable of storing 200 m³, it runs dry within three weeks of hot weather, leaving toilet flushing and garden irrigation dependent on scarce potable water.
The solution.
Hydraloop installed a mobile, scalable Cascade system that collects and treats shower and bath water from the sanitary building (25+ showers and family bathrooms). The treated water is reused for toilet flushing and garden irrigation, providing a continuous supply of water even in the driest months.
Thanks to this solution, the campsite was able to maintain sustainable operations year-round and, in October 2023, its owner Adriaan proudly accepted the ‘Most Sustainable Camping’ award at the Camping and Caravan Trade Fair in the Netherlands. The jury praised the campsite as “a role model for many” for its clear vision, measurable results, and innovative sustainability practices.
