Yearly Water Savings:
20,000 liters | 5283 gallons annually

In hurricane-prone Little Torch Key, Florida, Natalia and Alan Padalino have built a future-ready, elevated home that prioritizes sustainability and resilience. Constructed on stilts to protect against flooding, their new two-floor residence was designed not only to withstand the elements but also to reduce its environmental impact.

A key feature of the home is the Hydraloop H600 system, which collects, treats, and recycles water from showers, baths, and the washing machine. The treated water is reused for toilet flushing and laundry, ensuring that valuable clean water is used only where it’s truly needed.

“After extensive research, Hydraloop stood out as the only solution that could be seamlessly integrated into our home whilst delivering the highest quality reclaimed water. From the start, the customer service was exceptional — prompt, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout the selection process, with technical and engineering assistance that was both immediate and incredibly helpful, including direct guidance from a Hydraloop engineer to our plumber that ensured a smooth installation. The system is easy to monitor and control through the Hydraloop app, which has worked flawlessly, and we couldn’t be happier with this innovative and reliable product. We truly believe every home should have one.”

Even before fully moving in, the Padalinos’ part-time use of the home over a 9-month period has resulted in savings of over 15,000 liters (3,962 gallons) of water. In the Florida Keys, where building permits are regulated by the ROGO Points system, this installation also brought the added benefit of earning 2 points toward their permit, a potential cost savings of $20,000–$140,000. With benefits to both the environment and their wallet, installing a graywater recycling system like Hydraloop proved to be a no-brainer.
