Located in the heart of the Netherlands, Kampeerbosje is a nature-focused campsite welcoming around 3,000 guests each year. Owned and operated by Ellen and Rob van Holthuizen, the campsite offers six pitches and eight cabins, providing visitors with an authentic outdoor experience rooted in sustainability and respect for nature.
As water demand peaks during the camping season, the central sanitary facilities at Kampeerbosje consume significant volumes of freshwater, particularly for showers and toilet flushing. For Ellen and Rob, minimizing water consumption without compromising hygiene or guest comfort was a key priority, aligned with their broader commitment to responsible tourism.
To address this challenge, Kampeerbosje installed a Hydraloop H600 system in the central sanitary block. The system collects greywater from guest showers, treats it on-site, and safely reuses it for toilet flushing.
This commitment to sustainable operations was recognized with the Gouden Haring award, presented by De Groene Koepel, highlighting Kampeerbosje as a leading example of environmentally responsible tourism.
